A Life Made New

Owning a small business in Haiti gives families the opportunity to earn an income, provide for their loved ones, and build a more hopeful future. Mission of Hope’s community engagement team met a woman named Madame Lucien five years ago.
Struggling to start her small business, Mission of Hope was able to aid in getting her started with selling small treats in Leveque, Haiti. Over the years, we’ve been blessed by her friendship. Over the years, her business has become very successful, and after our team paid a visit to her this past month, they got a chance to visit her now large storefront, filled with customers.
This particular visit became even more special because Madame Lucien decided that, after years of hearing the gospel, that day was the day she became a new creation in Christ. Madame Lucien gave her life to Jesus, proclaiming, “Praise God! God sent people to me and look at how big my business has grown, He is so faithful.”
Madame Lucien's story is a beautiful reminder that lasting transformation extends beyond economic opportunity. As the local church faithfully invests in relationships and walks alongside people with both practical support and the hope of the gospel, lives are changed!
