Frazil is the second of five children. As a young boy, he survived a serious bout of pneumonia, the first of many hardships he would overcome. He started school in Delmas 33 in the aftermath of the earthquake, and his education has been a story of resilience ever since.

Insecurity and financial hardship forced Frazil's family to relocate constantly. Each move threatened to derail his schooling. But each time, his family made the same choice: stay close to Mission of Hope, so Frazil could keep learning.

That choice mattered. Frazil completed his fundamental studies at Mission of Hope in Titanyen, and when his secondary years brought serious turmoil to the area, he simply kept going, walking more than five miles to and from school each day. The journey often took several hours, but for Frazil, it was the price of pursuing the education he refused to give up.Without that steady place to learn, it's hard to imagine Frazil reaching this point at all. Education became the one fixed point he could walk toward, no matter how much else in his life kept shifting.

Today, Frazil has reached Filo, his final year of secondary school, and the first major milestone in a much bigger journey. He sees it as proof that his family's sacrifices and his own determination were not in vain.



He's already looking ahead: to university, and to becoming a licensed pharmacologist and doctor who can serve Haiti at home and abroad. For Frazil, an education didn't just teach him a subject; it gave him something to walk toward, and it's still pointing him forward today.
