In the remote community of Leveque, there are no roads for vehicles or motorcycles. The only way to reach the village is by walking for several hours across difficult terrain. Two elderly residents recently became critically ill. Bedridden and without access to medical care, they had lost hope and were simply waiting to die.

When Mission of Hope organized a Medical Clinic in the nearby community of Trougilot, Timagene, the Village Champion serving Leveque, informed staff about their condition. Together, they arranged for the two patients to be brought to the clinic.

Unable to sit or stand, the man and woman were carried for hours across mountain trails on wooden doors their families had removed from their homes and turned into makeshift stretchers.

At the clinic, they received medical treatment, medication, and the care they desperately needed. But their care didn't stop there. Timagene continued visiting them regularly and worked closely with our staff to ensure they received follow-up care and ongoing medication.

Over time, both residents regained their strength. They were able to walk again, return to farming, and resume their daily lives.
