Damas Juntas: Hope Restored

In Don Bosco, God is writing powerful stories of transformation through the ministry of Damas Juntas. Pastor André recently shared one testimony that captures the heart of what’s happening:
Two women came to the church searching for more than just help—they were searching for hope. One had spent over a year in prostitution, carrying exhaustion in her heart and searching for a remedy that could replace the emptiness she was faced with daily. The other woman had been facing years of family conflict, and communicated that she had a deep desire to find peace in the midst of so much strife among her family members.
When they approached the pastor, they weren’t met with judgment or interrogation. Instead, they were met with compassion. Alongside him stood a faithful leader— a woman of prayer and discernment. Together, guided by the Holy Spirit, they invited these women into a transformation group, a safe space designed to bring restoration—not only spiritually, but also emotionally and socially.
Inside the small women’s group known as Damas Juntas, the atmosphere became one of healing. The gospel was shared with tenderness and truth. In that space, both women recognized their need for a Savior. With broken hearts, they surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ and have found not just freedom but also support amongst the small group of women who have also carried heavy burdens.
Today, this group consists of just five women—but each story carries immeasurable value. What God is doing in Don Bosco is a reminder that it’s not about numbers; it’s about lives forever changed. Even if only one woman finds hope, heaven rejoices. And right now, we get to witness that joy multiplied!
