Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Hope, Impact, and Transformation

Happy New Year! We hope you had a restful and wonderful time with your loved ones.

In 2024, God has brought hope to those with nowhere else to turn, and your generosity has made this possible. Thank you for meeting the needs of people you may never meet in person yet whose lives have been transformed because of your support. Through your faithful generosity, you have demonstrated how Jesus is always near to the hurting and broken.

20.5 million meals were delivered across the island, and we saw incredible life change—from how God protected our staff in Haiti, deliverance with food security, and bringing hope to the most vulnerable. One Mission launched, including the deployment of our ship, True North, which has delivered life-saving aid to those who need it most.

This year, God continued to open doors for ministry in the Dominican Republic. Women’s Empowerment expanded, including new Damas Juntas (Women Together) groups, Women’s and Girl’s Day events, and recipients of our Women and Infant care kits. It was also the first year the Lord gave us the opportunity to host our first meal packs in the Dominican Republic! 102,492 meals have been packed in the DR this year!

Mission of Hope impacted thousands of men, women, and children across the island this year. Because of you and faithful people like you, many people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! As we look ahead to 2025, our prayer is that God will surround the hurting with His peace and that many lives will be changed across the island.

Francenia’s Story: A Story of Resilience and Faith Imagine fleeing your home country—not because you wanted to, but because you felt that you had no choice. This was Francenia’s* reality three years ago. A mother from Cabaret, Haiti, Francenia made the heartbreaking decision to leave everything she knew behind. Her home. Her community. Her roots. Gang violence had made staying impossible. She crossed into the Dominican Republic, uncertain of what the future held, but determined to protect her family. Francenia’s story is one of resilience and faith. She recalls the days when her children attended school at the Mission of Hope campus in Titanyen, Haiti, and the times she found care and compassion at our clinic there, too. Those moments brought hope and stability during difficult times. Yet,

Neika's Story of Hope Neika, a student in one of the schools in our nutrition program, recently shared her story. "When my mom was pregnant with me, my dad left. My mom was always the one who took care of me. And then, in 2021, my mom died. I can still remember the day so clearly. I felt so hopeless when I lost my mom. I didn't know what would happen to me. My mom's cousin is a teacher, and she and her husband took me in to care for me. They put me in school. I thank God for them every day. Today, I am in the 6th grade! And I love school. Math is my favorite subject—it makes me feel smart when I can solve a problem. I also love getting to be with friends at school and eating lunch together. The food helps us focus, which is important—especially during exam time. One day, I dream of becomin

Mireya’s Heart for Her Neighbors: One Island, One Mission In a small border town between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, the challenges of hunger are deeply felt. Just blocks from the border gate, members of our team met with a group of pastors and community leaders to discuss food security efforts. Our mission was simple: to explain what we were learning from hunger maps, share information about the recent shipment of food received from Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), and encourage participation in gathering more information to resource and serve the leaders and their communities. As our team explained our efforts, the leaders listened intently, their faces reflecting the weight of responsibility and the heartbreak they felt for their communities . Toward the end of the meeting, a few
