HAITI | EDUCATION IS WORTH THE RISK

Many of you participated in the Call to Prayer for Haiti from May 1-18, intentionally covering the people of Haiti in prayer daily. Thank you to all who participated! While the suffering in Haiti is not the way we would have chosen the story to be written, we trust that God is not finished with Haiti and that He will be glorified! Our Haitian team continues to lead with courage and boldness across all ministry areas. Their faith is steadfast and their hope is not lost. While political tensions and unrest have continued to fluctuate, we are grateful for the many days school has been open for schools within our network and nutrition program, and kids have been able to learn in a Christ-centered environment. At school, kids also receive a healthy meal and have the opportunity to fellowship with their friends in class. These simple joys of being a kid—laughing with your classmates, going to school and learning, and being in a safe environment—are things that kids in Haiti do not take for granted.

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti and continue to ask God to do what only He can do. We know prayer moves the mighty hand of God and that nothing is impossible with Him.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC | HOPEGO SPRING BREAK

It was an incredible Spring Break at Mission of Hope. Our new campus in the Dominican Republic was buzzing with excitement as HopeGo teams traveled from all over North America and showed up with a zeal and passion to selflessly serve. From sharing the gospel, hosting sports camps, doing construction work, and providing medical care—the Kingdom impact was significant. While there are many stories of moments where God showed up, one, in particular, stands out.

A team from Texas A&M served alongside Pastor Andre in his community for the week. One of the days, they painted a home for a woman named Ercilia, a joyful, 80-year-old, Dominican woman in the community. Unable to read, she welcomed the opportunity for the team to read scriptures with her. Her home was filled with people serving her, reading scripture with her, and getting to know her. Prior to painting the home, she shared with Pastor Andre that it was a dream of hers to have her home painted that specific color before she passed away. The gratitude she expressed made a profound impact on the team as they realized such a seemingly ordinary act of kindness could communicate value and love to someone. It also opened the door to ways to serve back home in their own communities.

When you serve on a HopeGo trip, you’re connected with a local pastor to help advance the ministry that is already taking place. The impact continues long after your trip is over, but the ability to advance ministry together is significant. We are looking forward to a wonderful summer of trips, and we hope to see you. If you haven’t signed up for a trip yet, there are still opportunities . We’d love to serve with you.

Francenia’s Story: A Story of Resilience and Faith Imagine fleeing your home country—not because you wanted to, but because you felt that you had no choice. This was Francenia’s* reality three years ago. A mother from Cabaret, Haiti, Francenia made the heartbreaking decision to leave everything she knew behind. Her home. Her community. Her roots. Gang violence had made staying impossible. She crossed into the Dominican Republic, uncertain of what the future held, but determined to protect her family. Francenia’s story is one of resilience and faith. She recalls the days when her children attended school at the Mission of Hope campus in Titanyen, Haiti, and the times she found care and compassion at our clinic there, too. Those moments brought hope and stability during difficult times. Yet,

Neika's Story of Hope Neika, a student in one of the schools in our nutrition program, recently shared her story. "When my mom was pregnant with me, my dad left. My mom was always the one who took care of me. And then, in 2021, my mom died. I can still remember the day so clearly. I felt so hopeless when I lost my mom. I didn't know what would happen to me. My mom's cousin is a teacher, and she and her husband took me in to care for me. They put me in school. I thank God for them every day. Today, I am in the 6th grade! And I love school. Math is my favorite subject—it makes me feel smart when I can solve a problem. I also love getting to be with friends at school and eating lunch together. The food helps us focus, which is important—especially during exam time. One day, I dream of becomin
