TRUE NORTH

Deploying Life-Saving Food and Aid to the Most Vulnerable

A LIFELINE TO THE STARVING

No one should starve to death. Since the assassination of the Haitian president in 2021, much of the country has been on the brink of starvation due to gang-controlled roads, which have made it impossible to transport critical food and supplies by land, leaving entire communities cut off from aid. The most vulnerable populations have been left to suffer in silence, with hunger becoming an ever present threat

In coordination with, and at the request of the Haitian Government, specifically the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Mission of Hope has the opportunity to help these vulnerable communities in unreachable coastal areas and the southern peninsula receive life saving aid, through the deployment of our ship, True North.

WHY TRUE NORTH?

While roads may be impassible, we see the sea as a clear and safer path to deliver aid.

True North was designed for disaster recovery, and has helped thousands of people recieve life saving aid in the past through other natural disasters and humanitarian crisis’. This ship is not just a stopgap solution; it is a sustainable way to ensure ongoing aid is delivered while roads remain unsafe. By avoiding the gang-controlled regions entirely, True North can provide a steady flow of food and medical supplies. The ship does not need to be docked in a safe harbor - it needs to be put into service to help save lives.

We believe that God has given us this ship for such a time as this.
