INFORMATION ON THE HUNGER CRISIS

The hunger crisis in Haiti is devastatingly real, and it is increasing at alarming rates. Over the past year, the number of people who do not know where their next meal will come from has skyrocketed to 4.9 million, plunging them into a state of food crisis or emergency. Compounded by ongoing violence, more than 362,551 individuals have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety elsewhere in Haiti. This puts additional strain on host communities as food scarcity increases, and the transportation of goods slows to a halt. The UN reported in March of 2024 that 1.4 million people are steps away from famine, further heightening the urgency for immediate aid response.
